Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Role Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires a high level of accountability, clinical expertise in both the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings, and the ability to respond rapidly to acute changes in patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver direct patient care within the ED scope of practice and maintain professional nursing standards in Telemetry.
- Physician Collaboration: Communicate clinical changes, diagnostic results, and symptomatology to physicians promptly.
- Patient Advocacy: Direct patient/family education and guide the activities of supporting nursing personnel.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to EMTALA regulations, HIPAA privacy standards, and mandatory reporting protocols (child/adult abuse).
Requirements & Certifications:
- Licensure: Active and valid State RN License.
- Core Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
- Safety Training: BVP (MAB) training.
- Preferred: NIHSS (Stroke Certification) and COVID-19 vaccination/boosters.
