Veterinary Emergency doctors treat each patient using a problem-based approach to create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan and perform emergency procedures. They spend meaningful time speaking to customers and treat customers with the highest level of compassion and care, creating the veterinary emergency experience for customers. The company has been around for 6 years and is adding 20-30 hospitals a year.

Compensation:
* DVM Base: $160k + 22% production bonus (bringing home $2-300k a year)
* 100% CE – they will cover as much as you want to do (online or in person) and $3,500 towards CE travel

Shifts:
7a-7p & 7P-7a
Swing shift through busy hours 10a-10p or 2p-2a or 4p-4a they can be flexible
156 shifts a year (usually 3 per week – 12-13 per month)
Mid-Day 3-4 docs a shift

Locations | Greater Chicago area: NEEDS
* Schaumburg (6-8 new site opens Jan 2025), Buffalo Grove (1), Naperville (2), South Loop (1)
* Most hospitals have 10 Doctors
* 3 leaders in each hospital. Medical Dir./ Hospital Manager / Nursing Manager

Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
* Have earned a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
* 1 year of emergency or managing critical care cases preferred, but not required.
* Experience with exotics is preferred, but willingness to treat exotics is required.
* Basic computer skills to use practice management, electronic medical records, and collaboration software.
* Ability to read, speak and hear sufficiently to understand, and complete tasks instructed in all forms of communication, written, verbal, or other.
* Provide information in person & over the phone by communicating clearly, appropriately & professionally.
* Possess the ability or willingness to learn the ability to perform minor and major emergency surgeries.
* Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital demands.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
* Answer medical questions over the phone
* See patients right away as part of the Veterinary Emergency Triage and Spikes
* Gather the signalment, presenting complaint, vitals and physical exam
* Conduct physical examinations of animals, along with other required investigatory measures such as ultrasounds, x-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
* Complete a diagnosis of each pet’s condition to create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan
* Communicates diagnosis and treatment options directly with customers
* Prepares and presents estimates to customers
* Create and review medical records to ensure they are accurate
* Demonstrate the value of the tests and treatments performed by speaking with the customer and addressing their concerns
* Prescribe medications and follow all legally required drug protocols
* Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
* Educate customers on after care and preventative measures where appropriate
