Minimum Education:

  • Completion of a Registry Level Respiratory Care Program

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (NBRC)

Minimum Work Experience:

  • No prior experience required

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care License

  • Annual renewal of National Board for Respiratory Care active status, subject to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP)

  • Graduate Therapists must obtain CRT credentials and then test for RRT credential and NBRC Credential active status within 1 year of graduation. If RRT Credential is not obtained, the individual will be placed into a Respiratory Care Practitioner position until the RRT credential is obtained.

  • BLS certification (must be completed before initiating patient contact)

  • ACLS certification (to be completed within 90 days of hire)

  • PALS or ENPC certification (to be completed within 6 months of hire)

  • NRP certification (to be completed within 6 months of hire)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in inputting data into computer programs

  • Ability to maintain work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards
